Our Recent Past
by John C. Almack - 1940

It is the outcome of an undergraduate course in the history ... of education. It is intended ... to have in a single volume a bird's-eye glimpse of the recent educational past." The editor, E. George Payne, gives all the credit for "the two movements in education" of this century to James and Dewey.
