Bases for Standardizing and Accrediting Colleges

It is customary to speak of the standard college as though the connotation of that term were accurately known and its complete implication adequately recognized. Standard colleges—standard with respect to what factors and to what degree of detail? The accompanying list, which is by no means exhaustive, lists in the left-hand column under four general divisions some of the more obvious and more widely inclusive factors concerning which standards might be devised.
