AMY BROWN is a cultural anthropologist and a lecturer in the University of Pennsylvania’s Critical Writing Program. She is also a High Performance Team Facilitator in the Wharton School and a supporting member of Philadelphia’s Caucus of Working Educators. A qualitative researcher by training, her current research interests include race, political economy, gender, philanthropy, and diversity and inclusion in education and the corporate world. Her solo-authored book, an ethnography entitled A Good Investment: Philanthropy and the Marketing of Race in an Urban Public School, was published by the University of Minnesota Press in 2015.
