    JUDITH DUNKERLY-BEAN is an assistant professor of Literacy and graduate program director in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Old Dominion University. Her work has been published in the Journal of Literacy Research, Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy, Comparative Issues in Education, and Language and Literacy, as well as in several edited volumes. Dr. Dunkerly-Beanís current research utilizes critical literacy and Foucauldian notions of power and punishment to examine the literacies, agency and identities of incarcerated youth.
