Duquesne University E-mail Author SANDRA QUIÑONES, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Literacy Education in the Department of Instruction and Leadership at Duquesne University. Her qualitative research examines the perspectives and experiences of bilingual-bicultural Latina teachers, particularly around notions of being a well-educated person. Her work is published in journals such as the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, the ,Journal of Language, Identity, and Education, and Urban Education Journal. Current research projects include a case study of an exemplary community school with a predominantly Latino population and a self study of her journey with mindfulness practices as a teacher educator.
