The Michigan Community-School Service Program

The Community-School Service Program, initiated and sponsored by the Michigan Department of Public Instruction and financed by the Kellogg Foundation, was planned to give the community-school philosophy an experimental test. It was intended to test tt~e thesis that a local school system which has competent leadership and reasonable support can, by working in co-operation with other social agencies, contribute significantly to the improvement of living in the community it serves.
