Providing for Work Experience and Outdoor Activities by William H. Ivins - 1953The presentation of a chapter on work and outdoor experiences'in this
yearbook is an authoritative recognition of the importance for youth of
such an extension of the usual classroom program of the secondary school.
Although earlier analyses of the problems of modern secondary education
have indicated a growing sense of the developmental values in work and
outdoor programs for youth, the major writings have not usually recognized
the potentialities of these experiences with the clarity that is exemplified
