The Classroom Group as a Unique Social System

Wherein does the uniqueness of the classroom group lie? It lies not so much in any single differentiating feature, for we know of no single quality of the classroom group that cannot be found in other groups. Rather, the unique character of the classroom group lies in the peculiar configuration of the specific characteristics. To communicate this unique configuration, we must describe, first, the separate characteristics and, then, seek to construct from these descriptions the unique over-all pattern.
