The Next Decade

The purposes of this chapter are, first, to sum up the trends described in previous chapters; second, to point out major problems, some of which are suggested or implied in earlier chapters; third, to clarify the roles of experimentation and research in schools; fourth, to show some of the reasons why problems have not yet been solved; and fifth, to identify recent trends and new developments which must be considered in the future.
