TODD A. DEMITCHELL Tis the John & H. Irene Peters Professor of Education and Professor in the Justice Studies Program at the University of New Hampshire. He studies the legal mechanisms that impact schools and colleges. Recently, he co-authored, with Richard Fossey, The Challenges of Mandating School Uniforms in the Public Schools: Free Speech, Research, and Policy (Rowman & Littlefield, 2015), his seventh book. and he has recent co-authored law review articles published or accepted for publication by the Education Law Reporter (student off-campus behavior), the Education and Law Journal (zero tolerance policies), and the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal (teacher tenure). He served in the public schools for 18 years as a teacher, principal, director of personnel & labor relations, and superintendent before moving to higher education.
