Creating Learning Environments by Allan A. Glatthorn - 1977Much educational innovation has been concerned with changing
the learning environment--developing new arrangements of time,
staffing, space, resources, and pupil groupings. Despite mounting
evidence that no single set of arrangements seems to be optimal
for all pupils, innovators have continued to propose modifications
and new combinations of those components in an attempt to bring
about improved pupil attitude and performance. Such attempts to
create new learning environments have had a clear impact on how
the English language arts are taught; in fact, it seems to me that
English teachers have always been among the first to experiment
with such changes. To view the full-text for this article you must be signed-in with the appropriate membership. Please review your options below: This article originally appeared as NSSE Yearbook Vol 76, No. 1. |
