An Interprofessional Model and Reflections on Best Collaborative Practice

The Children’s Aid Society’s community school model represents one approach to interprofessional collaboration within a public school setting and is based on more than ten years of experience at multiple sites in New York City. The chapter will describe the model and review the research on which it is based, outline evaluation findings to date, and discuss the mechanisms used to foster and maximize the benefits of multiple disciplines coming together to work with and on behalf of low-income children, their families, and their communities.
