Texas A&M University E-mail Author CARLOS KEVIN BLANTON is an Associate Professor of History at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He has published two books, The Strange Career of Bilingual Education in Texas, 1836–1981 (Texas A&M University Press 2004) and George I. Sánchez: The Long Fight for Mexican American Integration (Yale University Press, 2014), and several articles, including in Teachers College Record, Journal of Southern History, and Western Historical Quarterly. A collection he is editing, A Promising Problem: The New Chicana/o History (University of Texas Press), is forthcoming in 2016.
