JEREMIAH CLABOUGH, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Social Science Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is one of the editors of Getting at the Core of the Common Core with Social Studies. His current project is Twice Told Social Studies: Unpuzzling History with Primary Sources. This book explores how primary sources can be utilized to promote content area literacy skills as well as higher-order thinking in social studies. His research interests include teaching content-area literacy skills with primary sources and integrating graphic novels in the middle and high school social studies classrooms.
