STEPHANIE J. WATERMAN, Onondaga, turtle, is an Associate Professor at the University of Rochester, Warner School of Education & Human Development. Her research interests are Native American college experiences, Native American Student Affairs, the role staff play in student retention, Indigenous methodologies/pedagogy, college transition, and critical race theories. She is a co-editor of Beyond the Asterisk: Understanding Native Students in Higher Education, (Stylus). She has publications in the Journal of American Indian Education, the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice, the Journal About Women in Higher Education, and The Urban Review.
