    ALLISON WARD PARSONS is an assistant professor in the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University where she teaches courses in the Literacy program. Dr. Ward Parsons’ research interests include disciplinary literacy, professional development, and literacy coaching development. Her work has appeared in The Reading Teacher, Journal of School Connections, and Journal of Educational Research. Her current projects include early childhood science vocabulary development, a three-year study of a literacy professional development project in an urban charter school, and a longitudinal study of literacy coaching development.
