mlgomez@wisc.edu E-mail Author MARY LOUISE GOMEZ is Professor of Literacy Studies & Teacher Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she chairs the Elementary Education Area and directs the Professional Accelerated Licensure Program that prepares adults with bachelor’s degrees outside of education who are educational assistants and bilingual resource specialists to become grade 1-8 certified teachers. Gomez teaches graduate courses focusing on narrative inquiry and life history. She has published in journals such as Teaching and Teacher Education, the Urban Review, Teaching Education, Teacher Education Quarterly, and Race, Ethnicity, and Education.
