Northern State University E-mail Author ALAN L. NEVILLE is a Professor of Education and department chair for elementary, secondary, and special education at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He usually teaches classes in South Dakota Indian Studies, Human Relations, and Educational Assessment. He recently published “The Diminishment of the Great Sioux Reservation: Treaties, Tricks, and Time” in the Fall 2013 issue of Great Plains Quarterly. He has published three online articles for Teaching Tolerance: “Language Immersion in Just One Day” in February 2012, “Field Trips Make Learning Fun” in October 2011, and “University Partnership Offers Win for All Students” in August 2011. Neville is an appointed member of the South Dakota Commission on Teaching & Learning.
