    JAMES D. KIRYLO is Associate Professor of Education in the College of Education and Human Development at Southeastern Louisiana University. His research interests are in the areas of critical pedagogy, teacher leadership, curriculum theory, and literacy. He is the author of Paulo Freire: The Man from Recife (2011, Peter Lang), and co-editor for the book Curriculum Development: Perspectives from Around the World (2010, ACEI). His forthcoming book is titled A Critical Pedagogy of Resistance: 34 Pedagogues We Need to Know (Sense, 2013).
