    PHILLIP DEEN is lecturer of Humanities and Philosophy at the University of New Hampshire and is interested in contemporary democratic theory, Western Marxism and the history of American thought. Most recently, he has written on liberal civic education in public schools for The Journal of Social Philosophy and on global justice for Philosophical Pragmatism and International Relations. In addition, he recovered, edited and introduced John Dewey’s lost manuscript Unmodern Philosophy and Modern Philosophy.
