    ILAN GUR-ZE'EV is a professor of education in the University of Haifa and the author of many articles and books, some of which have been translated into Portuguese, Arabic, Polish, Danish, English, and the Croatian language. Gur-Ze'ev is an active and controversial participant in the Israeli public discussion concerning educational, social, and political challenges of the day. Among his fields of research are: critical theory, critical pedagogy, Holocaust education, counter-education, post structuralism, feminist theory, higher education and globalization as an educational challenge. His present research focuses on the transformation of "old" (humanist-oriented) progressive thinking into the "new" (anti-Enlightenment-oriented) progressive thinking and its educational implications in a post-metaphysical era. His recent publications include Diasporic Philosophy and Counter-Education (Sense Pub. 2010) and The Possibility/Impossibility of a New Critical language in Education (Sense Pub. 2010).
