University of Iowa E-mail Author DAVID B. BILLS is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Programs in the University of Iowa College of Education and Professor of the Sociology of Education. His research interests are in education and the workplace, labor markets, technological and organizational change, educational demography, and social inequality. He recently published The Sociology of Education and Work, as well as several edited volumes on such topics as educational credentialism (with David Brown), job training, and comparative social stratification. Professor Bills is Editor of the journal Sociology of Education. He is currently conducting research on the transition from work to college with Ryan Wells and Sueuk Park and is working with colleagues at the University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College on initiatives to promote STEM education.
