    MYRA ZARNOWSKI is a professor in the department of Elementary and Early Childhood at Queens College, CUNY, where she is the advisor to the graduate specialization in Children’s Literature. She is the author of History Makers (Heinemann), Making Sense of History (Scholastic) and the co-editor of The Best in Children’s Nonfiction (NCTE) and Children’s Literature and Social Studies (NCTE/NCSS). Her research interests include studying children’s nonfiction literature and the use of nonfiction to teach history in the elementary and middle school.
