University of Maryland Baltimore County E-mail Author PATRICIA SCULLY has been an early childhood educator for many years. She holds a Masters degree in early childhood education from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Ph.D in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland College Park. Currently she is director of the early childhood program and an associate professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Her most recent publication is Families, Communities, and Schools: Building Partnerships for Educating Children 5th Edition (Pearson Educational, 2011). Besides her interests in family involvement in schools, Dr. Scully focuses on early literacy and stress reduction for children and teachers.
