The International Community School of Decatur, Georgia, is a K/6, Title I charter school for local and refugee children. Its emphasis is not only educational but also social. It is an intentionally diverse environment in terms of its national, linguistic, religious, and socioeconomic component. Its purpose is not simply to teach students, but to build a community of balanced citizens.
