McGill University E-mail Author RATNA GHOSH is James McGill Professor and William C. Macdonald Professor of Education at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She was Dean of Education from July 1998 to January 2004. She was appointed Member of the Order of Canada in 2000, Officer of the Order of Quebec in 2005, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 1999.She has done research in Canada, Asia, and Latin America in multicultural/intercultural and international education as well as in gender studies.
- Roslyn Mickelson
University of North Carolina at Charlotte E-mail Author ROSLYN ARLIN MICKELSON is Professor of Sociology and Adjunct Professor of Public Policy, Urban Education, Information Technology, and Women’s Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has published widely on minority achievement, the political economy of education, and the effects of school and classroom composition on educational outcomes. Her book Children on the Streets of the Americas: Globalization, Homelessness, and Education in the United States, Brazil, and Cuba was published by Routledge/Falmer in 2000.
- Jean Anyon
City University of New York E-mail Author JEAN ANYON is author most recently of Radical Possibilities: Public Policy, Urban Education, and A New Social Movement and Ghetto Schooling: A Political Economy of Urban Education. Her articles on cities, race, social class and schools have been reprinted in over 40 edited collections, and translated into several languages. She teaches Education Policy in the Doctoral Program in Urban Education at the City University of New York.
