Denise Leograndis, a third-grade writing teacher, faced a pedagogical dilemma.  She was required to teach her students how to pace a narrative piece of writing effectively.  The problem: she did not understand what was meant by the term pacing.  Her lack of knowledge precipitated her journey towards a deeper understanding of the term.  The book, Fluent Writing, is the result of her careful self-study.
