It is a given that the effective administration of a quality early childhood education program requires a high degree of professionalism. Administering Early Childhood Education Programs offers a focus in this direction by providing fresh insights into an area that has not been systematically dealt with either in the related literature or in early childhood education training programs. Consequently, this is an area beset by a kaleidoscope of issues, daily crisis, continuous ambiguity, and uncertain boundaries in its conception and in its practice. Stevens and King recognize that many of the essential problems faced by administrators of early childhood education programs are not unlike those faced by administrators of other school-related programs.
