A Response to “The National Board Hoax” by Jason Margolis - February 19, 2004This commentary refutes Thirunarayanan's recently published opinion piece, which accuses the National Board of being a "hoax," and illustrates how its unsubstantiated claims are rooted in an academia bias. Washington State University E-mail Author Jason Margolis, a former New York City high school English teacher, is currently an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education and Field Partnerships at Washington State University at Vancouver. His work with student teachers has been published in English Education (2002). He continues to study pre-service and in-service teacher lived experience of educational policy.
