Typical M istake

Posted By: Melvin Thomas on October 9, 2004

This article ends well but illustrates two disconcerning elements of educaiton.
The first is that the teacher automatically, and almost immediately, blames everybody but himself. If students were supposed to learn on their own, there would be no need for teachers, schools, or education.
The second is the assumption that the student will learn something that has not been taught. If it has not been taught, where is it supposed to come from? The teacher was not trained well enough, eventhough he thought he was.
