The impact of sleep on learning and behavior in adolescents.

Posted By: John Cassell on December 18, 2003

Why expect the school to re-arrange their entire schedule when the simple solution is for the parents to make sure that their kids go to bed by a decent hour? Let's put the responsibility where it belongs! We must instill discipline in our children at home if we want them to be successful in life. I think that you will find that the main reason that kids are sleep deprived is not due to sleep disorders or asthma, but it is due to staying out too late at night, watching late-night television, etc. It is also easier for the parents to make sure that their kids do not work late hours than it is for the schools to change the bus schedules, class schedules, etc. to accomodate them.
