Mentoring/Learning Communities

Posted By: Mary Lewis on November 6, 2004

Phil,

Thanks so much to the information. I have gone to the first site and printed out the Summery Report, which I have just began to read. It looks interesting and I strongly agree with the finding that training of online learning community facilitators is an important practice. In my am research so far that seems to be a very important missing element as professors are trying to create and facilitate discussions online. Although f-2-f classroom practices can inform the online practice, there does seem to be skills that need to be altered and/or developed.

The second site was password protected, so I was unable to explore it. Thanks you again for responding.
