Constitution of Working Groups

When I first read the book and considered each of the "types" of individuals Gladwell discussed it made me wonder about how I constitute working groups in my classes. As you well know, there are a thousand different ways to do that, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried identifying types as Gladwell characterizes people and grouping students that way?
