black teachers in the education field

Posted By: sipho hlabane on November 9, 2004

I think this has to do with the officials who still believe that black people can't do intellectually challenging jobs and they still associate black people with animals.

I am from South Africa and I have seen many good black mathematics teachers in our schools, especially rural schools where there are no resources at all and the teachers and the learners only depend on one text book for information as there are no libraries in many rural schools. But one thing that is suprising this teachers still produce good results. On the other hand I have been at some private schools where I have seen many white teachers who are unable to teach and they don't even understand the fundamentals of classroom management.
