How can one get involved in this exercise?

Posted By: Sibongile Mtshali-Dlamini on July 2, 2003

I am a PhD student from Africa, Swaziland in particular, I wouls like to get involved in the project of teaching about Africa. I want to share my views about Africa in your forum. I have enjoyed reading your article, and I fully agree with you that there is a lot that we can share with each other as people living in this global community. You are right that what has been said about Africa depends on whose perspective the person comes from, and in most cases, the native people are never consulted because it is always claimed that they are primitive and backward, someone always claims to know what their views are, therefore present the views on their behalf. This leads to a lot of misrepresntation and distortion.
Please advise on what I need to do to be involved with the PIER-African Studies to share what I know about my continent African and my country Swaziland.
