This surprisingly slim edited book covers one of higher education’s current buzz-terms, interdisciplinarity, from both a learning and a teaching perspective. Centering primarily on undergraduate education, the chapters cover a broad range of topics related to interdisciplinarity. Part of the undergraduate focus, although not stated, may be because most of the contributions are from authors in the U.K., where there are fewer teaching-based graduate programs. There are also selections from the U.S., New Zealand, and India. For an edited book covering a wide range of issues and fields of study, there is very little context provided. There is no introduction, a short preface, and the conclusion by the editors is quite brief. This leaves the reader wondering about the intended scope of the book and the rationale behind contributions, as the book is a broad collection of short chapters, almost vignettes, related to interdisciplinarity.
