Priority consideration is given to manuscripts which advance the use of evaluation to assess the performance and to facilitate the growth and development of teachers, administrators, and college and university faculty. The use of innovative conceptual approaches and methodologies is encouraged.

The Journal of Personnel Evaluation in Education seeks to examine such issues as abuses of tests for evaluation, invasion of privacy in evaluation, criteria for effective teaching, use of instruments to improve instruction versus removal of teachers, computer-based simulation to evaluate teachers and matching evaluation procedures to instructional models. It provides policymakers, researchers and practitioners with an informed perspective on significant conceptual developments and current research in personnel evaluation.
