Philosophy of Education
|Posted By: Martha Murphy on May 16, 2002|
|I agree! My initial teacher training was at Colorado College, where they taught us about philosophy of education and teacher accountability, then sent us into the classroom with the idea that we were responsible for making sure every student learned what we were teaching.|
My guess is that philosophy of education is downplayed because it is dangerous. "The powers that be" in education don't want people with independent ideas about what the priorities are and personal ethics.
It's just a hunch.
