Where does high-stakes testing fit in the standards debate? Are there references that explore their relationship - what are the overlaps? what are the distinctions? The more I read, the more tangled these two strategies seem to get. They appear to be two different bodies of literature...a search for high-stakes testing will yeild one set of sources, and a search for standards will result in another set. I'm trying to gain some clarity here :) Thanks for any direction anyone can give me!
