Cognitive cultural studies

Posted By: ely djulia on March 20, 2002

Dear Sir/Madam

I'm interested in investigating the interaction between cognition and culture in science education, particularly in biology education. This is science education in cultural context. My study is focusing on how to promote the cultural references and cultural competences into designing biology classroom in developing country. This idea come to me after reading some information about multicultural education and my observation about the diversity of culture and its potential to be a cultural capital in promoting education as a whole. My question is what is the interaction pattern between cognition and culture in science education? Does anyone have some opinion and suggestion about this. I would be very happy to get the point from many related educators or experts.
I'm looking forward for hearing from you.
Thank you very much for your attention

Sincerely,

Ely Djulia,
