Brain-based learning

Posted By: Bonny Le Grice on May 18, 2004

What do you mean by brain-based learning Kathy? If you are talking about brain gym, the research into the functioning of the brain has progressed considerably since that fashion of the 60s. Any learning involves the brain and cannot occur without it. There are a number of neuropsychological texts that could give you information about brain functioning, but I think that would be beyond what you want. In our centre we focus on using research-based teaching practices. One website where you could get information about this is www.behavior.org and also websites that you will find about Direct Instruction.
