Curricula for Democratic Education

by Donald Peery Cottrell 1943

The author envisages a very great responsibility for democracy's schools in giving direction to the mind and heart of the people. The schools cannot do it alone, but the professionally operated school can and should be built so closely in tune with the deepest aspirations and hopes of all the people that they will recognize it as their own instrument for the expression of their highest will. Curricula for such a school cannot be lacking in clear purpose and intent.
