Frontiers of Adult Education: Agricultural Extension

ONE of the most significant adult education enterprises in the nation and indeed in the world is the Agricultural and Home Economics Extension Service which operates in connection with each college of agriculture in cooperation both with the United States Department of Agriculture and the local county that is the unit of activity and administration. It is the purpose of this article to summarize the history and organization of this enterprise, to describe the broad outlines of its program, and finally to point out a few of its significant educational contributions.
