Improved Visual Activity Tests for Young Children

After considerable experimentation we have devised new materials for visual acuity testing that appear to meet the necessary criteria. An adaptation of the Snellen E chart has been developed that capitalizes the child's interest in games and elicits responses that are pleasurable and natural. These tests are designed to test gross deficiency in visual acuity, to sift out the children requiring more intensive examination by oculists.
