Not only time but also crime marches on. It is over ten years since the late Dr. Lucien Bovet published the first WHO survey on crime (Psychiatric Aspects of Juvenile Delinquency, 1951) in an endeavor to draw together what was then the latest threads of knowledge on crime and criminology. Dr. Trever Gibbens, in the present WHO booklet under review, following in the steps of his colleague, presents a vignette of what has happened since then in the general attempt to understand the baffling world of crime. In some ways, Gibbens draws appropriately on a larger canvas than did his predecessor.
