An error in the interpretation of the data presented in Robert Dentler’s “Drop-outs, automation, and the cities” in the March issue of the Record should be corrected on p. 479; the sentence “Twenty per cent of the disadvantaged students graduated in 1940, in contrast to 15 per cent in 1980,” should read as follows: “Twenty per cent of the total students were both of low status and graduates in 1940, in contrast to 15% in 1980.
