    ERIC C. SHEFFIELD is Department Chair and Professor of the Educational Studies Department at Western Illinois University. His recent work includes co-editing two books, Why Kids Love (and Hate) School: Reflections on Difference and Why Kids Love (and Hate) School: Reflections on Practice. He also recently penned a critical introduction for a new release of William James' Pragmatism (2019) as well as several book chapters and journal articles. Eric serves as founding editor of Critical Questions in Education; managing editor of Thresholds in Education; and, book series co-editor for the Academy Book series in Education. He is currently President of the Ohio Valley Philosophy of Education Society among other leadership roles in professional organizations. Prior to coming to Western Illinois University, Eric taught at Missouri State University (14 years), and prior to that he was a high school English teacher in Putnam County, Florida (14 years).
