    CHRISTINA L. DOBBS is an assistant professor in the English Education program at the Boston University School of Education. Christina’s research focuses on academic language, the development of adolescent writing skills, and the professional learning that supports teachers in these areas. Christina is interested in effective disciplinary instruction for students who are diverse in a variety of dimensions. Christina recently authored Investigating Disciplinary Literacy (2017), and her work has appeared in journals such as Reading Research Quarterly, Professional Development in Education, and the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy.

    CAYSIE CARTER is an experienced higher education professional. Caysie’s research interest is focused on the nexus of identity development and literacy events of historically underrepresented undergraduate students. Currently, Ms. Carter's research investigates how undergraduate students experience academic writing and how these experiences influence perception of success at the collegiate level.
