Precautions to be Taken in Preparation for School-Building Construction

by Erik A. Andersen — 1934

In the course of procedures in connection with the construction of school buildings, various difficult and critical situations may arise, requiring careful precautions to avoid embarrassing mistakes. The mistakes that are made may be the result of poor planning, of lack of care, or of insufficient knowledge with regard to proper procedures. These common errors generally fall into two groups; those that are the direct result of incomplete, inadequate plans and specifications, and those that relate to procedures in connection with these plans and specifications. To avoid omissions and misinterpretations, in each case the plans and specifications should meet the requirements of accepted standards, with clear indications of all the details that are essential for the completion of a building.
