Introduction (Mass Media and Education)

by Edgar Dale 1954

Its title, Mass Media and Education, suggests that mass media play a role in education and that these media must, therefore, be looked upon with concern and respect. We are concerned with these mass media as influences arising in the out-of-school life of the child or youth and in the normal experiences of the adult.
